Biden Defies Rule of International Court

CSPAN - President Biden on Monday rejected the move by International Criminal Court (ICC) chief prosecutor Karim Khan to seek arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

“Let me be clear: We reject the ICC’s application for arrest warrants against Israeli leaders,” he said at a White House event celebrating Jewish American Heritage Month.

Mr. Khan announced earlier in the day he was seeking warrants on charges of crimes against humanity for the Israeli officials as well as Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar, Muhammad Deif and Ismail Haniyeh.

“Whatever these warrants may imply, there’s no equivalence between Israel and Hamas,” President Biden said.

The president also rejected the notion that Israel is committing genocide in its war against Hamas, which has led to the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza.
