All Five Officers Involved in Tyre Nichols’ Death Charged with Second-Degree Murder

All five of the former Memphis police officers involved in Tyre Nichols’ lethal traffic stop have been fired and charged with second-degree murder, as well as aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault-acting in concert.

Former officers Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Emmitt Martin III, Desmond Mills Jr. and Justin Smith have been arrested and booked in Memphis’ Shelby County Jail.

Memphis police intend to release the body and dash cam footage from Tyre’s arrest in a matter of days.
