Harvard Commencement Speech Scolds Harvard Leaders for Punishing Pro-Palestine Protesters

Harvard graduate Shruthi Kumar did not mince words during her recent commencement speech. She spoke directly to leaders at the Ivy League school, calling them out for punishing 13 would-be graduates for their involvement in pro-Palestine protests. Those students were sanctioned and not allowed to walk in the commencement ceremony.

“I am deeply disappointed by the intolerance for freedom of speech and their right to civil disobedience on campus,” Kumar stated. “The students have spoken. The faculty have spoken. Harvard, do you hear us?”
