“Pride didn’t start out with a rainbow. It started with a riot. It started with a revolution.”

Happy Pride, Community. This is a reminder that June is Pride Month and that Pride is rooted in resistance against state violence. We have witnessed intense state violence, here on college campuses, on the streets, and in the forms of global warfare and genocide. May we continue to resist as part of our legacies and histories of resistance. And May we continue to honor the leaders and ancestors who came before us. Swipe to read a short summary on the history of Pride Month as well as the riots against police violence that preceded the Stonewall Uprising.
