Insulin Costs Now Capped at $35/Month for Some

The Inflation Reduction Act, which takes effect today, caps out-of-pocket insulin costs at $35 a month. This is a huge win for senior citizens with diabetes, as a month’s worth of insulin can cost as much as $1,000. It is estimated that as many as 1 in 3 Medicare recipients has diabetes.

However, back in August when the Inflation Reduction Act was still being voted on, 43 Republican senators voted against expanding the insulin cap to those with private insurance.
