Brittney Griner Released from Russian Custody in Prisoner Swap

BREAKING NEWS! After ten months in Russian custody, WNBA star and US Olympian @brittneyyevettegriner is free.

Her release was negotiated as part of a prisoner swap in which the U.S. released Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout in exchange. @potus Biden signed off on the exchange, freeing Griner this morning. She is currently on a plane headed back to the U.S.

Griner was jailed in February after authorities found vape canisters with cannabis oil in her luggage at a Russian airport.
