MINNEAPOLIS— The Red Dragon Restaurant & Lounge will permanently close at the end of the month. The south Minneapolis restaurant and bar on Lyndale Avenue first opened its doors in 1976.

Loved locally for its tiki-inspired drinks, such as the iconic Wondrous Punch, the Red Dragon has been owned and operated by the Wong family for four decades.

The family says their beloved restaurant struggled financially during the pandemic and has continued to suffer from declined business eversince.

The Red Dragon’s last day will be December 29th of this year. Customers can still grab dinner or a drink to support the Wong family until then. Do you have a favorite Red Dragon memory?
