Syrian Refugees Return After Fall of Assad Regime
Syrian refugees return home after the fall of the Assad Regime.
The Assad family dictatorship lasted 50 years but was toppled less than two weeks after fighting broke out in northern Syria, with rebels gaining control of the capital.
President Bashar al-Assad and his family have fled to Russia. According to Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, the leader of Syrian rebel group, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, the fall represents a “victory for the entire Islamic nation.”
“This is a nation that, if its rights are taken, will continue to demand them until they are restored,” Jolani insisted.
