State Senator Says He’s Never Met a Hungry Person in Minnesota

While explaining why he was voting against a bill to provide students with free breakfast and lunch, MN State Senator Steve Drazkowski said he’d never met a hungry person in the state he serves.

“I have yet to meet a person in Minnesota that is hungry,” Sen. Steve Drazkowski stated. “I have yet to meet a person in Minnesota that says they don’t have access to enough food to eat.”

"Now, I should say that hunger is a relative term," continued Drazkowski, “I had a cereal bar for breakfast. I guess I'm hungry now."

According to Feeding America, “338,000 people are facing hunger - and of them 121,140 are children.”
