Ex-Border Agent Sentenced to Life in Prison for the Murder of Four Women in TX

Ex-border patrol agent Juan David Ortiz has been sentenced to life in prison for the murders of four women in Texas.

The bodies of Melissa Ramirez, Claudine Anne Luera, Guiselda Alicia Cantu, and Janelle Ortiz were discovered on a Laredo, TX roadside in 2018.

Most of the women, who worked in the sex industry, had been hired by Ortiz at various times. But, after he was caught, Ortiz told investigators that he had an extremely negative view of sex workers and hoped to “clean up the streets.”
