Five Police Officers Indicted in the Killing of Ronald Greene

More than three years after Ronald Greene’s horrific death, the Louisiana police officers involved have been indicted. The five officers-Kory York, Chris Harpin, John Clary, Dakota Demoss, and John Peters—face a variety of charges including negligent homicide, malfeasance, and obstruction, for their roles Greene’s killing.

Greene was pulled from his car, beaten, tased, shackled and dragged through the dirt by officers near rural Monroe, LA, while screaming in agony.

However, his death was initially considered to be the result of a car crash, until an investigation by the Associated Press proved otherwise.

The investigation pointed to a large-scale coverup and unearthed suppressed body cam footage detailing Greene’s brutal, and ultimately fatal, encounter with Louisiana police.
