Delta Deletes Tweet “Terrified” of Palestinian Flag

During a recent flight, a Delata customer complained in a Tweet that members of the airline’s flight crew were wearing “Hamas badges,” the badges in question were small lapel pins of the Palestinian flag.

Delta responded publicly to the complaint by saying, “I hear you, as I’d be terrified as well…” The response was later deleted.

Delta isn’t the first airline to come into criticism over crew wearing Palestinian flag pins. In May, Jet Blue reportedly prohibited their flight crew from wearing the pins after receiving complaints.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has since called on Delta to apologize for the Tweet, “Whether this racist post on Delta’s X account was approved or unauthorized, Delta must apologize and take steps to educate its employees about this type of dangerous anti-Palestinian racism,” Edward Ahmed Mitchell of CAIR said in a statement.
