Minneapolis Asks for Community Input Around Future of Third Precinct Police Station
Three years after the Minneapolis Police Department’s Third Precinct building was burned down during unrest following the murder of George Floyd, the city of Minneapolis is seeking community input around the future of the station.
According to the city, they are planning to either renovate and restore the remnants of the burned building or build a completely new station in the 2600 block of Minnehaha Avenue.
The city currently has a digital survey on its website and encourages community members to complete it. They also have several public meetings planned to discuss location options.
