Woman Who Plowed Car into BLM Rally Sentenced to Five Hours of Community Service and No Jail Time

Kathleen Casillo, the New York woman who drove her BMW sedan into a BLM rally in 2020 and injured six people, has been sentenced to five hours of community service.

Casillo avoided, what could have been, a seven year prison sentence by cutting a plea deal with the case’s prosecution.

Casillo has claimed she panicked and stepped on the gas during the December 2020 incident because protestors were “aggressive.” However, witnesses say some of the victims had their backs turned to her car when they were hit.

According to the deal, by pleading guilty to reckless endangerment, Casillo could have the charge reduced to disorderly conduct after six months.

Is this justice…or privilege?
