Justin Jones Reinstated to Tennessee House

The Nashville Metropolitan Council voted 36-0 earlier this evening to reinstate Justin Jones to his position representing District 52 in the Tennessee House.

Jones will regain his position, on an interim basis, until an official election is held.

This news comes after Jones and fellow Black Democratic rep, Justin Pearson, we’re expelled by GOP House members following a gun control protest. A third rep, Gloria Johnson, who is white, was not expelled.
