Florida High Schools Won’t Require Menstrual Data from Student Athletes

Update on an earlier story!

Last week, the Florida High School Athletic Association's board of directors voted 14-2 against requiring high school athletes to report their menstrual information on official forms.

The vote also determined that the form would ask for “sex at birth” rather than “sex” as previously worded.

Opponents have been vocal that the asking for menstrual information is part of Florida’s continued attack, led by Governor Ron DeSantis, against transgendered youth in high school sports.
