George Floyd Square - Gatekeeper

To wrap up our 24 Demands of George Floyd Square series, it's important to know what brought individuals to the square... and held them there together as a community. As Minneapolis holds one of the longest standing protests in U.S. history, here is one of its adamant members, Gatekeeper, who doesn't plan on leaving anytime soon. - Several months after the modern-day lynching of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis Police Department, the city of Minneapolis requested to open up the intersection of 38th & Chicago, where Floyd was murdered, to vehicle traffic. The people said no. The 24 Demands of George Floyd Square is an article demanding justice from Minneapolis’ elected city officials, otherwise the streets will not be opened to vehicle traffic. In short: No Justice, No Streets.
