Minneapolis Animal Shelter Waives Adoption Fees After Influx of Abandoned Pets

Minneapolis Animal Care and Control has seen nearly 60% more animals come through its doors than last last year at this time. With an almost 70% increase in owner surrenders, and being short-staffed, MACC is having a hard time taking care of all of their new animals.

In an effort to help place the animals, Minneapolis has announced that they are waiving all adoption fees and are actively seeking people to adopt and foster. On top of waiving adoption fees, animals will be vaccinated, sterilized and microchipped as well.

Visit the city’s website for more information or contact MACC directly. If you’ve been considering adding a furry friend to your family, now is the time.
